An issue has been identified whereby a recent set of Microsoft updates (update KB5029649 or KB5028244) is causing some Windows 10 Professional machines to prompt to reinstall Sage 200 client. The issue is occurring nationwide and may affect all Sage 200 Professional customers that utilise Windows 10 Professional computers. If your users see the below prompt, it is safe to follow the prompt and complete the reinstallation to relink your software, this should be a very quick and simple process and within a few moments your access to Sage 200 will be restored.

Sage are currently investigating further with Microsoft. It is thought Microsoft will issue a rollback of the faulty updates to undo the problem but we don’t have a date for this at present.

If the program continues to ‘nag’ to continually install either the next day or the next time you try to use Sage 200, this is not normal expected behaviour. Please contact support and we will bypass the faulty Microsoft component on your PC for now, allowing you to use Sage 200 without being prompted to reinstall.

In the rare instance that you encounter any difficulties with this process, please do not hesitate to contact Century Support for remote assistance.

We expect further occurrences of the issue as additional computers download the Microsoft updates affected. This can be staggered by Microsoft over different days. So some of your colleagues may not see the prompt at the same time as you.

Potential issues following this advice include:

  • You may be prompted to enter network Administrator credentials at the end of the process, if you don’t have sufficient install rights on your PC. This needs to be both an Administrator user, and a user within the Sage200Users active directory group. Otherwise the next time you attempt to access Sage 200 the install prompt will reappear.
  • Rarely, an additional error message stops the process. Please screenshot this and send it in to Century Support.
  • If the program continues to ‘nag’ to install again, this is not normal behaviour. Please contact support and we will bypass the faulty Microsoft component on your PC for now, allowing you to use Sage 200 without being prompted to reinstall.

Kind Regards,
